Growing up in Miami, Florida, Charlene began her career at the once renowned Miami Heart Institute as a registered nurse, working in the area of coronary care and later, obstetrics. Given the opportunity to study the human body and how disease impacts an individual, fueled the compassionate spirit in Charlene and a desire to use her knowledge with which to help others. Due to the tragic nature of some of the illnesses she helped to treat, she became intensely interested in maintaining her own health and wellness.
With all of her enthusiasm for staying well and vibrantly alive, along with a lot of personal research, she made a variety of changes to her lifestyle and almost instantly reaped benefits. It wasn’t long before she realized that a natural approach to health and wellness paid high dividends. With over forty years of experience in research and development, Charlene has highly developed skills in assessment and evaluation. Her philosophy is, using a proactive approach to health and wellness is an ideal way to help others avoid unhealthy catastrophe.
The desire to remain at home as much as possible to raise her family, she worked several jobs. She never returned to a hospital setting after her second daughter was born, but did take several positions that required nursing skills such as home exams for insurance companies, doctors’ office work, and phone consultations which assessed symptoms and directed the person, if necessary, to the nearest emergency facility. While keeping her nursing skills sharp, Charlene also engaged in a variety of jobs. She served as a model in various capacities, provided nutrition counseling, worked in school administration/education, and personal fitness training, which led to health and wellness coaching. Her life-long love of ballet, and eight years of training in classical ballet as an adult led to her most recent endeavor of instructing in Barre Fitness.
Now in her mid-sixties, and feeling half her age, Charlene has no health concerns, and takes no pharmaceutical or OTC drugs. She puts into practice what she preaches, and although certainly not perfect, she demonstrates by example that an alternative approach to natural health will pay back many times over in a better balance of health and positive outlook on life.
Charlene’s passion is assisting individuals in balancing their bodies in harmony with nature. Taking a step at a time, she will walk you through a personal journey to your optimum health and vitality.
